We’ve been loving our sessions with Caroline the horticultural therapist.
Caroline is passionate about seeing older people’s quality of life improved through working with plants and natures and getting outside. With a background as a speech and language therapist, and having community development experience in South East Asia, Caroline returned to the UK where she trained in horticulture and garden design. She is a member of ASTHP (Association of Social and Therapeutic Horticultural Practitioners) and of Thrive, a national charity using gardening to bring about positive changes in the lives of people living with disabilities and ill health, or people who are isolated, disadvantaged or vulnerable.
Horticultural therapy has shown to have a positive impact on mental health and cognitive functioning. The sessions are well structured and they always bring us a lot of joy!
