A Sunny Week of Activities at Our Sheffield Care Home

What a scorcher of a week it's been at Twelve Trees! With temperatures soaring across Sheffield, our team has been working hard to keep everyone cool, comfortable and — most importantly — well hydrated. And despite the heat, it's been another fun-filled week of activities, music and time spent together at our care home in Nether Edge.

When the weather turns this warm, keeping our residents safe and comfortable becomes the top priority. Our new marquee has been an absolute godsend this week, giving everyone plenty of shade so we could still enjoy spending time outdoors without worrying about the sun. Alongside that, our team kept hydration front and centre throughout the day, making sure cold drinks were always close to hand.

It's a good reminder of how much the little things matter during a heatwave — shade, regular drinks, and a watchful eye on everyone's comfort.

Little treats like a cold ice lolly went down a treat too — a simple pleasure that doubles as a fun way to keep everyone refreshed and hydrated when the temperatures climb.

A Fun-Filled Week of Activities

Hot weather certainly didn't slow us down. Our activities programme carried on in full swing, with something for everyone to enjoy. This week included:

• A lovely breakfast out
• A shopping trip
• Our weekly chair exercises
• A quiz to get everyone thinking
• A wonderful live performance

Keeping our residents active, engaged and socially connected is at the heart of everything we do, and weeks like this show just how much joy a varied programme can bring.

The highlight of the week had to be a wonderful performance by the lovely Terry Freeborn, who had everyone singing along. There's nothing quite like live music for lifting spirits and bringing people together — and the smiles around the room said it all.

Making the Most of It Together

It may have been a very hot week, but we certainly made the most of it. From shaded afternoons under the marquee to singing along to old favourites, it's the shared moments that make our care home feel like home.
