October is packed with wonderful activities at Meadowbrook, and I'm excited to share what we have planned for our residents this month. From creative pursuits to entertainment and seasonal celebrations, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Download October Calendar (PDF)We've established some wonderful sessions throughout the month. Our Jodie Dance Xplosion sessions run on 7th, 21st, and 28th October from 10:15-11:15am, bringing energy and movement. These sessions are always popular and cater to all mobility levels.
Throughout the week, we offer daily activities including arts and crafts, bingo sessions, knitting and cross stitch groups, and our popular Knit & Natter sessions at 2:30pm. These regular activities provide structure and social connection that our residents really value.
We're making the most of October's autumn weather with garden centre trips and outdoor activities. These outings give residents a chance to enjoy fresh air, browse seasonal plants, and connect with the wider community.
This month brings some wonderful entertainers to Meadowbrook. On 22nd October, we're hosting Mark Marsden at 2:15pm – always a resident favourite. We're also excited about the FlyLine Friendship Lunch on 8th October at noon with Davie Nichols, which promises to be a special afternoon.
For something completely different, we're hosting a Silent Disco on 29th October from 2:30-3:30pm. This is a first for us and I'm really excited to see how much fun residents will have with this unique experience!
Not every day needs to be high-energy. We've balanced the calendar with plenty of quieter activities like crosswords and word searches, board games, dominoes, and our regular quiz sessions. Our Craft & Cuppa mornings at Aberford Village Hall (10:30am-12pm on the 1st and 29th) provide a lovely opportunity for residents to socialise in a different setting.
The month ends with various residents' choice sessions, where our residents get to decide what they'd like to do – because sometimes the best activities are the ones chosen by the people taking part.
